Different Types of Brakes used in Cars:
1. Disc Brake: A disc brake is a mechanical system that slows or stops a vehicle by converting kinetic energy into heat energy.
2. Drum Brake: Drum brakes are a brake system with brake drums (rotors) that rotate with the wheels.
3. A hydraulic brake is an arrangement of braking mechanisms that uses brake fluid, typically containing glycol ethers or diethylene glycol, to transfer pressure from the controlling mechanism to the braking mechanism.
4. Electromagnetic Brake: Electromagnetic (or EM) brakes are electrically actuated but are specifically designed to halt & hold torque mechanically.
5. Air Brake: It is a type of friction brake for vehicles in which compressed air pressing on a piston is used to both release the parking/emergency brakes to move the car and also to apply pressure to the brake pads or brake shoes to slow and stop the vehicle.
6. Parking or Emergency Brake: A parking brake, also known as a handbrake or emergency brake, prevents a vehicle from moving when it's parked.
7. Regenerative Brake: Regenerative brakes work by reversing electric motors that propel a car. It works like a generator and feeds energy back into the hybrid or electric system to help replenish a little bit of range.
8. Anti-Lock Brake: An anti-lock braking system is a safety anti-skid braking system used on aircraft and on land vehicles, such as cars, motorcycles, trucks, and buses.
